Biolog Inc ATMSP - Anaerobic Transport Medium Surgery Pack, 10 Tubes/Pkg
Anaerobic Transport Medium (ATMSP) is a mineral salt based semi-solid media. Designed as a non-nutritive holding medium, it maintains viability of microorganisms through collection and transport of clinical specimens. This media is prepared, dispensed, and packaged under oxygen-free conditions. Each tube is individually packaged in sterile autoclaveable surgery packs.ATM contains buffered mineral salts in a semi-solid media, with sodium thioglycollate & cysteine added as reducing agents. This medium maintains the viability of most microorganisms without multiplication and allows for dilution of inhibitors present in clinical material, and meets the viability requirements of obligate anaerobes. Tubes have hungate caps (caps containing a rubber septa), which allow for direct injection of clinical specimens, introduction of tissue samples, or stabbing with swabs. Resazurin is added as an indicator of significant oxygen exposure to the media.

Cycloserine-Cefoxitin Fructose Agar (CCFA) is an enriched selective & differential media used for the isolation & presumptive identification of C. difficile. This media is prepared, stored, & dispensed under oxygen-free conditions to prevent the formation of oxidized products prior to use.CCFA is an enriched selective & differential media used for the isolation of C. difficile. The nutritive base consists of animal peptones & fructose, & is supplemented w/ cefoxitin & cycloserine at concentrations that inhibit the growth of most normal fecal flora. Cycloserine will inhibit gram-negative bacteria, while cefoxitin will inhibit both gram-positive & gram-negative organisms. C. difficile is not inhibited on CCFA, & will exhibit a yellow, ground-glass colonial morphology. Neutral red is added as a pH indicator.

This media is prepared, dispensed, & packaged under oxygen-free conditions to prevent the formation of oxidized products prior to use.CM is an enriched non-selective media that is useful as a holding media for stock & mixed cultures, sporulation, proteolysis, & toxin prod. by certain Clostridia spp. such as C. novyi, Type A. This Med. is used for preservation of clostridial cultures by freezing. CM has the capacity to initiate growth from a minute inoculum & maintain viability of organisms over extended periods. This media allow slower growing organisms, within a mixed sample, to proliferate in the presence of rapid reproducing organisms & are used to demonstrate clostridial toxin prod., sporulation, & short chain organic acid prod. by gas chromatography.

This media is prepared, dispensed, and packaged under oxygen-free conditions to prevent the formation of oxidized products prior to use.YCFAC is an enriched nonselective media used in the isolation and cultivation of a wide variety of bacteria found in the human gut, including Faecalibacterium prausnitzii. The basic nutritive components of this media come from yeast extract and pancreatic digest of casein. This basal medium is then enriched with various specific vitamins, sugars, and short chain fatty acids to ensure growth of the most fastidious gut microbes.

This media is prepared, dispensed, and packaged under oxygen-free conditions to prevent the formation of oxidized products prior to use.RCB is a enriched non-selective broth medium formulated by Hirsch and Grinstead to enhance the growth of clostridia from a small inoculum. Casein, beef extract, and yeast extract form the nutritive base that supplies a source of carbon, nitrogen, vitamins, and minerals. Dextrose is added as a source of carbohydrates. L-Cysteine is included as a reducing agent. Soluble starch is a detoxifier of metabolic by-products while sodium acetate acts as a buffer. Resazurin is added as an indicator of significant oxygen exposure to the media.
